Charity Fund Raising
SAROJ GUPTA CANCER CENTRE & RESEARCH INSTITUTE was incepted initially to provide a sojourn to distressed cancer patients who came to the city for treatment at different hospitals. Essex Indians children raised £3000 by doing Tagore’s immortal show Post office in May 2014 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, London. Lord Swaraj Paul matched the amount in recognition of hard work.
Bhalopahar is a society formed for restoration of threatened ecological system alarmed at the rapid depletion of vast stretches of forest and is also an instrument for nurture and propagation of folk culture and enhancing environmental education to tribal children. Essex Indians supported this humanitarian project and donated money to extend the school building at Bhalopahar orphanage school.
Mission Arogya is a group of Social Entrepreneurs who believes in applying proven business and market strategies to solve inequitable social problems. Their goal is to have a direct impact in social problems, specifically healthcare. Essex Indians supported Mission Arogya‘s Kolkata Integrated Stroke System development programme and donated money will be used for that purpose.
